Boy critically injured in Gold Coast dog attack dies in hospital
A young boy, critically injured in a dog attack on the Gold Coast has died in hospital.
The five-year-old was bitten on the neck and back at a home in Varsity Lakes just before 12.30pm on Friday.
Paramedics rushed to the scene and were forced to give the boy a blood transfusion.
He was rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition but died while undergoing emergency surgery.
Police will now prepare a report for the Coroner.
